About fours years ago, I found myself if a really dark place. I was unhappy and unhealthy and it was written all over my face. Literally. So, as I sat in bed one early morning before dawn, I saw a commercial for Juice Beauty.​ It was longer than the usual 30 second spot but shorter than an infomercial. It may have been about 15 minutes long but that was long enough to convince me their products were what I needed to change my skin for the long term.

I tried out my new Juice Beauty Correcting Concealer and Perfecting Foundation last night and, I have to say, I really liked them!

The concealer, which I got as a free promotional item, is an Ivory shade –– paler than my skin tone. As far as coverage, it is quite light and I would suggest something a bit heavier for very dark spots. However, if you’re using a foundation and a powder, this concealer will do just fine.

Speaking of foundation, the Perfecting Foundation was amazing. I, also, got this as a promotion and found it to be weightless, easily blended, and added a natural bit of color. I am happy to replace my Mac foundation for this product.

Next up, I’ll have to order and try Juice Beauty’s powders, eyeshadows, and blushes!

I saw crazy reviews about this on QVC and they prompted me to do more research. The brand, Tarte, makes pretty good cosmetics. I have a few in my collection and they are pretty impressive. Tarte’s products are formulated without parabens, phthalates (a toxin used to increase durability and/or softness) and synthetic fragrances. Their packaging is “green” and certain product lines are vegan and cruelty free. So, from what I have found online, Maricuja is derived from the Amazon, only once a year, by the women of the Amazon, who work for Tarte. It is known also as Passion Fruit. Here is what it is said to do: It is rich in essential fatty acids, which are known to rebuild and repair your skin. It offers intense hydration for dry skin. Formulated without mineral oil. High doses of pure vitamin C gives you the appearance of brighter skin.  The greatest thing about this oil is that it only has one ingredient –– cold pressed maracuja oil. That’s it! I will say that I was very hesitant about putting oil on my face, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that my face drank this oil up like water after a few minutes. No sticky feeling. No funny smells. Just pure nature.  Tarte says that the oil can be used on all skin types and will benefit them. I got mine from QVC.COM but I have heard that people are buying them elsewhere, much cheaper. I just advise you to be careful of where you’re purchasing this oil. Make sure you are getting the real thing! Retail: $46 (QVC.com) DirectionsUse at night in place of your usual serum and/or moisturizer. The special dosage dropper chosen for this bottle measures the perfect amount of oil every time. Warm the oil in the palm of your hands and gently massage into face.
